Project Overview

Research and Development Laboratory for electric battery testing and production. The project involved designing a new steel frame to provide a mezzanine level for office use and plant within an existing industrial unit.

Our Solution

The structural design included:

• New steel frame forming a mezzanine level within the existing industrial shell
• Integration with the existing building structure
• Vibration-sensitive design considerations for the laboratory environment
• Efficient use of the existing building volume

Outcome

The mezzanine design maximised the usable floor area within the existing industrial unit, providing separate zones for office accommodation and mechanical plant while maintaining the ground-floor laboratory space.
